OAKtoberfest is BACK on October 4!

Join us on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 1-4pm at Maryknoll Park! Together with the Glen Ellyn Park District and others local environmental organizations, celebrate Illinois oaks and discover fascinating facts about these majestic trees while engaging in a variety of family-friendly activities.

  • Enjoy live music and a beautiful day outdoors with Glen Ellyn neighbors!

  • Meet local environmentally-conscious organizations and small businesses.

  • Play platform tennis with equipment and brief instruction provided (first come, first served).

  • Purchase OAKtoberfest beer from Two Hound Red (21+)($)

  • Enjoy cider and apple cider donuts!

  • Try your hand at “a-corn hole” and other games

  • Unleash your creativity with nature themed crafts and a community art project mural!

  • Follow a oak-related story walk - “Acorn was a little wild!”

Our previous events drew nearly 300 community members! If you are interested in tabling, review the guidelines below and contact us to apply.

Guidelines for Non Profit/Community Groups:

  1. Be in the DuPage County area or if not in DuPage County, must be environmentally focused
  2. Be non-partisan (i.e., not affiliated with any political party or candidate)
  3. Are permitted to solicit donations on site; but we would request that a portion go to tree planting ($30 per organization)

Guidelines for For-Profit Businesses:

  1. Be “brick and mortar” business or independently owned/operated.  
  2. Have some aspect of sustainability to the business model, products, or operations.  Please include this in your application, so we can showcase it in advance!
  3. Unfortunately, we cannot allow “multi-level marketing” businesses even if the business has some "green" products.  
  4. A minimum tabling donation of $30 is requested to go towards tree planting in the community.  This can also be done "in kind" if approved in advance (i.e., plant giveaway)

Plastic “tchotchkes” of any kind (i.e., water bottles, chip clips, pens, beads, sunglasses, etc) are NOT PERMITTED as giveaways in keeping with our desire to keep this event as low waste as possible.
